For centuries, we have been led to believe that Nadi pareeksha, or Ayurvedic pulse diagnosis, is required for Ayurvedic treatment.
The truth is that none of the major Ayurvedic texts – Caraka Samhita, Ashtanga Hridaya, or Susruta Samhita – make any mention of Nadi Pareeksha.
And, the Caraka Samhita was written in the second century BC.
The term “Nadi Pareeksha” first appears in a book called “Yoga Ratnakaram” in the 17th century BC as one of the diagnostic methods.
That was 15 centuries ago!!!
Ayurvedic Pulse Diagnosis is a relatively new advancement in Ayurveda that is not based on the three original scriptures! It is one of the diagnostic tools, but not the only or most important one.
Unfortunately, it is now used more for marketing than anything else!
